I'm Eric, and I am a Software Engineer, Graphic Designer, Teacher, and Musician.
I have worked as an Administrative Assistant and Lecturer at a university, Director of Customer Success at a tech startup, High School Computer Science Teacher, Church Music Director, Freelance Graphic Designer, Coding Bootcamp Facilitator, Senior Customer Support Analyst with an edtech company, and - most recently - a Software Engineer for a Pharmacy Benefits Management company. My versatile skillset and diverse experiences allow me to think outside the box and identify innovative solutions to big problems.
When I was a teacher, I had this running joke with my students that I always ask them what they want to be when they grow up because I'm still taking suggestions. I am a lifelong learner. Learning is my hobby and my superpower. I am especially interested in finding ways to connect my love of the arts, technology, and cognition. My ultimate career goal is to build my own tech startup in the Music Education space.
In my spare time, I enjoy playing piano, reading, learning languages, traveling, collecting hobbies, and spending time with my family. I am also heavily involved in my community through my church and as a Master Mason.
Modern work demands knowledge transfer: the ability to apply knowledge to new situations and different domains. Our most fundamental thought processes have changed to accommodate increasing complexity and the need to derive new patterns rather than rely only on familiar ones.
